History:
Banded Cuff Bracelet like this are classic Turkmen, traditionally worn by women at celebrations, usually in pairs with one on each arm. The Turkmen call these bracelets Qasli Bilezik, and each band is called a qoshmah. The number of bands, or qoshmah, that a woman has on her bizelik is an individual preference or family tradition.
Interesting fact:The more bands on a woman's arms,the richer her father/husband!!!
Turquoise Stone:
One of the first gemstones to be mined, turquoise has long been prized for it's intense colors, which vary greatly from sky blue to green, depending on the quantities of iron and copper found in it.
Cuff is made of mixed base metals of purity and may contain nickel. Cuff features a very pretty turquoise stone in blue color. Cuff can be adjusted slightly by opening carefully. Squeeze gently to fit. Light to medium weight.
SIZE: Dimensions are approximate. Cuff measures 3 1/2" wide in the center tapering to 1 1/4" at the ends. Inside circumference 8" (6" plus 2" gap opening) before adjusting.
