This breathtaking and unique beaded headpiece cap was handcrafted in the mid-1900's for the nomadic Afghan Kuchi tribe. The headpiece is the pinnacle of all tribal jewelry as it carries more than 50 indivisually hand crafted pendants and ornaments including beads and coin sewn on its body.
The cap is beaded completely with hand .Across the forehead is a row of unusual large metal beads that were sturdily made from old embellished coins.
On each side of the cap, an additional fabric extension with embellishments of coin pendant with charm dangles hangs at the level of the temples to frame the face.
The beading on the cap was constructed with a stiff backing so the cap holds it shape permanently. A mirror bead sits in the center of the very top.
It is fully lined with soft cotton. There are mild wear patterns and a warm age patina on the pendants after many decades of time.
